BEETHOVEN’S 5th
The most famous symphony of all time caps off a program that includes works by gifted American composers. Jennifer Higdon wrote her Percussion Concerto in 2005 as a thrilling showcase for Scottish virtuoso Colin Currie. Jeffrey Mumford’s world premiere recalls this orchestra’s strong tradition of introducing new works into the orchestral repertoire.
